2021 Application Fees For Different Canada Visa
When you apply for a visa to Canada, you must pay an application fee and any other fees required to process your application. These fees are also known as the Canadian embassy fee, but the amount depends on the type of visa you are applying for.
Permanent Resident Visa Fees
Permanent resident fees vary from program to program depending on the immigration you are applying for. However, the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) is paid at the time the application is approved. Regardless of the immigration you are applying for, this fee must be paid. In other words, this fee is not refundable. However, it may be refunded to you if you withdraw your application or if the government rejects your application. The RPRF does not apply to the following applications;
- Applications to sponsor adopted children;
- Dependent children of the sponsor or applicant;
- Applications to sponsor an orphaned sister, brother, nephew, or niece;
- Protected persons.
However, the fee is $490.
There are six types of fees (see below);
Business Immigration Fees.
They are divided into three groups and the fees apply to all three groups;
- Self-employed persons
- Business immigration to Quebec
- Business incorporation visa.
The application fee for permanent residence is $1,540 (including the RPRF of $490). However, without the RPRF, the fee is $1050. If you are applying for your spouse/common-law partner, the fee without the RPRF is $825. For dependent children, the fee is also $225.
Note: Applications under some provincial immigration programs may be subject to additional processing fees, as determined by the provincial immigration office.
Economic Immigration Fees.
These fees apply to ;
- Atlantic Immigration Pilot;
- Live-in caregivers;
- Canadian Experience Class;
- Federal Skilled Workers;
- Federal Skilled Workers ;
- Quebec Skilled Workers selected ;
- Provincial Nominees ;
- Express Entry.
The application fee for permanent residence is $1,040 (including $490 for RPRF). However, without the RPRF, the fee is $550. If you are applying for your spouse/common-law partner, the fee without the RPRF is $550. For dependent children, the fee is $150.
Note: Applications for some provincial immigration programs may be subject to additional processing fees, as determined by the provincial immigration office.
Humanitarian and Compassionate Immigration Fees.
The fee to apply for permanent residence is $1,040 (this amount includes the RPRF of $490). However, without the RPRF, the fee is $550. If you are applying for your spouse/common-law partner, the fee without the RPRF is $550. For dependent children, the fee is $150.
Fees for Protected Persons
The fee to apply for permanent residence is $550. If you are applying for a spouse or domestic partner, the fee is $550. For dependent children, the fee is $150.
Fees for Resident Permit Holders
The application fee for permanent residence is $815 (including the RPRF of $490). However, without the RPRF, the fee is $325.
Permanent Resident Card Fee
When you become a permanent resident, you must have a permanent resident card. This card will only be sent to an address in Canada, not to an international address. It costs $50.
Processing fee for a Temporary Resident Card
Just as the processing fee for permanent residence varies from program to program, the fee for a temporary resident permit also varies depending on the type of visa. They are issued to international visitors to Canada. There are 5 types of visa fees, which are explained below;
Visitor Visa Fees
Applying for a visitor visa (including the super visa) for a single or multiple entries costs $100 per person. For a family of five (who must apply at the same time and have dependent children under the age of 22), the fee for a single or multiple entries is $500. However, all applications must be submitted at the same time. However, the renewal costs $100 per person. Reinstatement of the application costs $200.
Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) Fee.
Visa-exempt travellers who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents are required to pay an ETA fee of $7. However, this does not guarantee entry into Canada.
Work Permit Fees
Work permit applications cost $155 per person (including renewal applications). An artist who wishes to apply for three or more work permits must do so at the same time, at a cost of $465. However, renewing a permit costs $355. Openwork permits cost $100 per person.
Fees for Study Permits
Students who wish to study in Canada must pay certain fees. Study permits cost $150 per person, and reissuing a permit costs $350. Some Canadian schools or universities offer scholarships to students to cover transportation and other costs.
Biometrics Fees
Each person submitting the following applications must provide fingerprints and a photograph. If the embassy asks you to submit your biometric data, it is included in the cost of your Canadian visa.
The fee for biometrics is $85 per person and $170 for a family of two or more. For a group of artists, the fee is $255.
